Our Focus on Family

Head Start isn’t just a daycare! Our program provides prompt care and support for all of our children and their families. We are highly responsive to parents and will do everything we can to assist those who need support. Head Start does not discriminate against children based on race, sex, color, national origin, religion, or disabling conditions.


Items needed for proof of income:


Paystub, W2, or proof of Public Assistance (SNAP/Families First or TANF). 


​If your family receives either Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), or Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP​, Food Stamps), your child fulfills this eligibility requirement for our program.

WHY CHOOSE US?

If child has a diagnosed disability, provide the Individual Family Support Plan (IFSP) for Early Head Start or the Individual Education Plan (IEP) for Head Start.

 
We also need an Immunization Certificate and up to date Well Child Exam.

L.B.J.&C. Head Start is currently accepting applications for the 23-24 school year. This free high quality comprehensive early childhood and family engagement program is available for children ages 3-5 and their families. We must determine the age of the child and any of the following documents can be used to satisfy this requirement.


Birth Certificate, Mother's Copy, Foster Contract, Court Documents, Paternity Test. 



To begin the enrollment process, a parent or legal guardian can click on the blue “Apply Now” button or call our main office at (931) 528-3361 for assistance.  Please scroll down for eligibility and application requirements. In order for the application to be considered complete, in addition to other information, we will need a copy of the child’s up to date shot record on the Tennessee state form and an up to date physical, along with proof of all income for a year.
